In compiling this outline of common cattle diseases, those which are subject to control under the Diseases of Animals Acts and Orders have been deliberately omitted for obvious reasons. Also certain other specific diseases have been left out simply because any treatment, conventional or homoeopathic is uneconomical and animals suffering from them are better culled, e.g. Johnes Disease and certain others which while not enzootic in Britain, may be subject to control in other countries.
